The Coaches

Jason Brasel

  • 2015 Tennessee Best Area Rider, Category III
  • 2-Time Tennessee State Category III Time Trial Champion
  • 1st General Classification, Pensacola Classic Stage Race, Cat III

Jason has been racing for seven years. He was drawn to time trials early in his racing career after coming in almost dead last in his first time trial. Jason is a TT specialist and general classification rider. In 2015 he amassed 10 TT wins, including the Category III Tennessee State Time Trial for the second year in a row, and the CCA Time Trial Championships. He also won the 2015 Pensacola Classic Stage Race Time Trial and was 1st on General Classification. He is currently a Category II racer. Jason has been coaching athletes for three years, and is the coach of Nashville-based racing team I AM Racing.

Jason spends a lot of his day thinking about how to help others get better at what they do, whether that's his day job as an educational consultant in higher education, or working with athletes on the bike. Whether it's on the bike or otherwise, he loves helping others achieve their goals.

Patrick Walle

Patrick started riding a bike, his first endurance sport, in 2010. After being introduced to racing in 2011, cycling quickly became a lifelong passion. Patrick plays the french horn in the Nashville symphony and has been teaching and playing professionally since 2006.

Teaching has always been an interest of Patrick. Acquiring and perfecting a skill set then passing those skills onto others was always a part of his musical career, and since 2012 he has been doing it as a cycling coach too. Patrick has coached juniors, Ultra endurance athletes, weekend warriors, and racers from category 5-1. A firm believer in goal setting, Patrick will help you determine your goals, and with the power of analysis and planning, help you achieve them all.

Brendan Housler

  • 2018 Master's USA National Road Champion
  • 8-time Elite Men's State Champion (6x NY, 2x TN)
  • Over 80 P/1 podiums and over 70 total WINS

Brendan started riding in 2008 in basketball shorts and lined up for his first USAC race in 2009. In 2010 he earned his Category 1 license and has been training and racing with power for over 60,000 miles. He recently moved to Memphis, TN, after finishing his MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon Business School.

Brendan is a medical device distributor and social media marketer by day, but would rather be making you a faster, stronger, and more confident version of your current self. He coaches everyone from the brand new cyclist (where we all started; there are NO dumb questions) to the Cat I racer looking to take the next step up. He has coached numerous athletes through the ranks and his number one focus is to see you hit your goals within a realistic time frame.
